It presents, synthetically, in a richly illustrated trilingual text (Portuguese-English-Spanish) the development process of the Brazilian electricity sector, since its early days in the late 19th Century, until 2001. Five chronological chapters systematize the milestones of this story, including the pioneer uses of electricity in the country, the first national projects, the inflow of foreign capital, and the sector regulation by the State and by the growing participation of the public power.
